My Favorite Books of 2011

Greetings, my fine friends.

I thought I would put together a list of books that I enjoyed reading this year so that you may also share in the joy that it brought me.

Here is the list, in no particular order:

1) Experiencing the Spirit (Henry Blackeby) - This brought me to a better understanding of the Holy Spirit and its direct role in my life

2) Doctrine (Mark Driscoll) - Great read on understanding the basic tenants of the Christian faith.  We actually did this as a study in our church and it was pretty cool.

3) Too Big to Fail (Andrew Ross Sorkin) - It is a very fast and scary read on how close our economic system came to a complete collapse.

4) Erasing Hell (Francis Chan) - After reading Rob Bell's book Love Wins (which I thought was basically good with a major exception), Francis' argues against some of the views mentioned in Rob Bell's book and presents clarification and an accurate biblical view of eternity (imo)

5) The Life and Times of Jesus the Messiah (Alfred Edersheim) - This is a book my father-in-law borrowed to me that I just started but its a fascinating book on the culture and historical era in which Christ walked the earth.

Books that I am reading or on my list for 2012

6) Civilization (Niall Ferguson) - suggested reading by my friend Kosal
7) The Secret Knowledge: On the Dismatling of the American Culture (David Mamet)
8) Currency Wars (James Rickards)
9) The Big Short (Michael Lewis)
10) Whisper (Bill Hybels)

Please let me know if you have books that you have enjoyed.

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and God's blessings to all my friends.

Grace & Peace
