Please do not respond to this post as I am in mourning over what once again 'could have been'...
I have never seen a team implode at the worst time in my life.
Disgusted.
Other than that, have a swell Monday!

Buffett on Obama's Bank Tax

“I don’t see any reason why they should be paying a special tax and I don’t see the rationale for it...Look at the damage Fannie and Freddie caused, and they were run by Congress. Should they have a special tax on Congressmen because they let this thing happen to Freddie and Fannie? I don’t think so."
Warren Buffett, CEO and Chairman of Berkshire Hathaway
I think they should...

Weekend Notes
I had a great weekend in sunny California visiting family, making friends, and attending a work-related symposium.
Here were the highlights:
Here were the highlights:
- Being able to get to some reading and exercise for once (Tom Clancy's 'The Teeth of the Tiger, Watchman Nee 'The Normal Christian Life', and J.I. Packer's 'Evangelism and the Sovereignty of God' for those who are interested)
- Visiting my brother's church, Rock Harbor, and witnessing a number of people being baptised after receiving Christ as their savior!
- Spending time with my nephews and niece. They are growing like weeds but sharp as tacks
- Visiting with my brother and spending shoulder time together watching the Vikes crush the Cowboys (and yes, the last touchdown WAS called for)
- Steak and lobster
- Cigars downtown in San Diego (brand new cigar called 'Acid' - never tried it before but very tasty, easy draw, light in taste but lasted forever)
- Oops, I forgot an important one - on Saturday morning, we were able to serve breakfast (a function of my brother's LifeGroup at Rock Harbor) in a local homeless shelter. It was VERY COOl. For those who are thinking about all the problems in Haiti, etc., we don't need to look very far to find those that really need a helping hand...

Brit Hume
I'm not a huge political pundit, but to keep my wife on her toes, I try to stay in the know at least somewhat.
I was made aware of a recent article by Ann Coulter in response to the tongue-lashing that Hume received stating that Tiger Woods should consider Christianity and give up his Buddhist beliefs. I happen to agree.

New Year's Resolutions
Greetings:
I know I have been lax in posting but a NY resolution of mine is to do the following:
I know I have been lax in posting but a NY resolution of mine is to do the following:
- Blog more
- Become a missional family
The first two are obvious. The last has to do with looking for opportunities for our family serving others around us. Whether that is helping out in a soup kitchen, working with homeless shelters or disadvantaged youth, I want to make sure our kids get the fever for selflessness and a Christ-like love for others.
I hope your Holidays were well-spent and relaxing. Look for more of me this year and I wish you God's Blessings in 2010.
