Well, the baseball season for the mighty Leprechauns is finally over, but not without a bit of drama played out on the base pads on the playoff weekend.
With the team down by a run, Jalen led off the fourth with a solid walk. Only to be left on third without a run.
The next inning, the dreaded 'Yellow Team', scored three runs on two fielder's choice errors which put the nail in the coffin.
Hunter was the first batter in the bottom of the fifth and hit a bloop single to right, only to be left on base for the rest of the inning to lose 5-2.
They did play with heart, and both Hunter and Jalen hit very well in the playoffs. Minus a couple of botched plays here and there defensively, they both played very well and Mom and Dad were very proud. The yellow team was definitely the better team that day and deserved the victory.
Much like Tom Watson, what could have been is now a distant memory and football season is being thrust upon us (yes, both boys are scheduled for football in August)...
